Your
lessons come so gently
And in so many ways.
It may be in the bird's song
Or the way the meadow lays.

It's a special way of seeing,
Where the world would never
know,
Within the windows of my mind.
I don't know where it will go.

I think of someone, out there,
Without a friendly prayer;
Without a hope, without a sound
To break the midnight air.

I think of someone's awful pain
And no one there to soothe,
I think of frightened people who
Don't know which way to move.

And every fear is true and real,
And every tear is wet;
A heart that's broken right in
two,
No one to fix it, yet.

I think we'll wait for Heaven
And we won't give in to hate,
I think He'll fix it all and
pray
The answer won't be late.

I'd like to see the road's all
straight,
Before HE has to see
The crooked paths we walked
upon;
Not very patiently.

I'd like to say, "Oh, Lord!
You'd be so proud of me, today!"
But, there are not so many days
I can count that way.

For, hating seems so easy
And there is so much wrong!
The warm and wonderful
Forgiveness Road is long.

Keep a hope within your heart,
A song for every day;
A heart of love and service,
too,
All along the way!
